Children’s Pet Show 2018 – Terms & Conditions

The Children’s Pet Show takes place 1.30pm on Saturday 28 July 2018 in the Cattle area of Randox Antrim Show, Shanes Castle.

Admission to Randox Antrim Show (9am-5pm) is £10 per person and children under 16 years of age go FREE when accompanied by a paying adult.  Online tickets for £9 available here until Wed. 26 July. Car parking is FREE.  Event admission is payable at the gate.

Children’s Pet Show Terms & Conditions:

  1. Open to children and young people under 16 years of age.
  2. Large animals may be refused entry due to health and safety reasons.
  3. £1.00 entry payable on registration at the ring side, just ahead of judging (in addition to the cost of admission to Randox Antrim Show.)
  4. Entries will be taken at the Show ring immediately prior to judging.
  5. Location of judging to be confirmed on day. Look for a ‘Pet Show’ sign on an available Cattle ring signpost.
  6. Judging to commence 1.30pm, Saturday 28 July 2018.
  7. The stewards and judge’s decisions are final.
  8. 1st Prize £15, 2nd Prize £10 and 3rd Prize £5.  The children’s pet show is sponsored and judged by Clare Vet Group.

 


‘King & Queen of the Castle’ 2018 Jiving Competition – Terms and Conditions

The ‘King & Queen of the Castle’ Jiving competition will commence at 2.30pm on Saturday 28 July 2018 at Randox Antrim Show, Shanes Castle.

Admission to Randox Antrim Show (9am-5pm) is £10 per person and children under 16 years of age go FREE when accompanied by a paying adult. Online tickets for £9 available here until Wed. 26 July. Car parking is FREE.  Event admission is payable at the gate.

‘King & Queen of the Castle’ Jiving Competition Terms & Conditions:

  1. Open to jiving couples of all levels of ability.
  2. Entries will be taken in the entertainment marquee immediately prior to the start of the competition. The entertainment marquee will be marked on a map that will be available as you enter the show and the secretary’s office.
  3. There is no additional fee to enter this competition, other than admission to Randox Antrim Show (£10 per Adult on the day).
  4. Competition to commence 2.30pm, Saturday 28 July 2018. Music will be provided by The Jiving Chicks.
  5. The judges’ decision is final.
  6. 1st Prize £200 and the title ‘King & Queen of the Castle’, 2nd Prize £100 and 3rd Prize £50. The jiving competition has been sponsored by Enkalon Foundation.

New Youth Busking Competition at Randox Antrim Show

Randox Antrim Show’s new Youth Busking competition is open to individuals or groups of up to six performers of secondary school age (up to 18 years old), from schools, young farmers’ clubs or youth groups across the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough.

One of the Show’s objectives is to attract rural and urban youth from the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council area. So, this year, entertainment will be provided by local youth for local youth thanks to this new competition.

All types of singers and musical genres are welcome.  Entrants will each be allocated a different location at the Show in Shanes Castle on Saturday 28 July and will be required to play between 1pm and 4pm, during which time the judging will take place.

PRIZE:

The winning will be awarded a £250 prize. They will also earn their affiliated school/ youth group/ YFC a  £100 donation.  All groups can also arrange to collect donations from the public during their performance.

HOW TO REGISTER:

This Competition is FREE to enter but spaces are limited. Groups must register for the competition prior to 20th July 2018 to allow ticketing to be arranged for group members, plus ONE helper/minder/parent per group.  Download and complete this Busking Registration Form 2018 and return to secretary@antrimshow.com by 20th July.  If you require electric, please confirm this on the Registration Form.

 

Randox Antrim show reserves the right to limit entries (depending on number of entries).

 

The following guidelines have been prepared to help you to have a safe and enjoyable day.

REGISTRATION

  • Registration must be done by submitting the registration form to secretary@antrimshow.com by 20 July 2018
  • You will receive a confirmation email back to confirm registration.

ARRIVAL ON SHOW DAY

  • The Competition will take place on Saturday 28 July 2018 in Shane’s Castle Estate, Antrim as part of the Randox Antrim Show.
  • Please report to the Secretary’s Office on arrival to confirm you are in the Show Grounds, no later than 12.30pm.

YOUR BUSKING PITCH

  • You will be allocated a pitch for the duration of the competition and must remain their unless instructed otherwise by an event official.
  • Please use plastic or tin drink containers – glass is not permitted.
  • All rubbish should be disposed of safely in waste bins.
  • Ensure that cases, instruments or other pieces of equipment do not become an obstruction or trip hazard.
  • The content of your act must not be in breach of any law or copyright and should adhere to the rules of common decency.
  • Any act that the judges deem to be dangerous, offensive or otherwise inappropriate will be asked to stop and will be withdrawn from the competition.

AMPLIFICATION

  • Amplification is permitted, if you require to use it. You can provide your own battery powered amplification or we can provide electric hook up. Respect your fellow performers by keeping the volume at a level which is safe and acceptable to the general public and the event officials.

WELFARE

  • Dress appropriately and protect yourself against all kinds of weather which could be changeable throughout the day.
  • First Aid Units will be located in the Show Grounds.

PHOTOGRAPHY

  • For publicity purposes, photographs will be taken throughout the day of the event. All buskers have signed their Registration/Consent Form when entering and under 18’s require parent/guardian consent.

UNDER 18s

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event.

JUDGING

  • We want to see you perform naturally and how you entertain the public so you may not know when you have been judged and it may be on more than one occasion throughout the afternoon during the hours of 1.00 – 4.00pm.
  • The judges decision is final. No discussion will be entered into.

STEWARDS

  • Event Stewards will be on duty throughout the Show.
  • For Health and Safety reasons you must comply with the Stewards instructions at all times.
  • Report anything suspicious or inappropriate to the nearest Steward.
  • Health and Safety is the responsibility of everyone, please ensure that your own actions promote a safe and enjoyable day for all those taking part.
